Title: Free Text Editor
Post by: JohnF on May 12, 2016, 10:46:40 AM
If you want a sophisticated text editor try this one

https://www.emeditor.com/text-editor-features/history/emeditor-free/ (https://www.emeditor.com/text-editor-features/history/emeditor-free/)

These are the instructions to have it free.

Code: [Select]
Download the normal EmEditor Professional/Free installer,
install, and select All Commands on the Tools menu, select
Help, and select Downgrade. (Alternatively, select Quick
Launch (CTRL+Q) on the Tools menu, type “downgrade”,
and press Enter twice.)

Not sure if it is worth messing with this downgrade stuff.
I am using for quite a while now PSPad, does everything I could need with text files, sources or otherwise...

Yes that looks good too. I've been using TextPad4 for many years.

find and replace function, Unicode support, and printing capabilities. (https://www.emeditor.com/text-editor-features/history/emeditor-free/)

And it's free, wow! Perhaps I should sell my editor (http://masm32.com/board/index.php?topic=5314.0) cheaper 8)

PsPad looks more interesting. At least it has a "find list", not as comfortable as RichMasm's listbox, but usable. The bookmarks are a joke, though.
