Forgive my impertinance but I'm having a bit of a quandry with Pelles C...

I've been using ver5.00 for hobby stuff and recently updated to 6.00 for a new project that I'm going to have to maintain and improve over time.  This leaves me with a couple of questions...

1) It's been nearly a year since new downloads became available. Is Pelles C still under active development?

2) Previous versions had very nicely customized Windows libraries and includes that made development at the API level much smoother...  Are there any plans to update to Windows 7 Libs and Incs?

I really like working in C99 and the IDE and would hate to have to give it up.

I will appreciate any information anyone can provide.
Thank you.

I don't if Pelles C is still under development. Pelle chooses this forum last at the 2009.08.04. In the past he made some pauses for a long time (not so long as this time) and come back with a new beta version of Pelles C.

So there's been nothing "official"...

Is there anyone who contacted Pelle? He didn't visit the board since long time. We would like to see him back.

Hello, all participants in the forum. We are all worried about the long absence of consideration by us Pelle. I appeal to his countrymen, please try to help your competent authorities to find Pelle or reliable information about his current status - alive, dead, sick. I apologize if I hit someone, but it clearly has become a very important question and ask you for assistance. Best wishes to you all.

So, I guess from the looks of this, the only safe conclusion is "No, it isn't".

I've decided to complete my current project in Pelles C but any new projects will force me to move to a new language. That's disappointing.  I Like Pelles C.

And don't even get me started on OOP...

Pelles C is developed by one person, so it is likely, that due to personal issues, the development will stall.

BTW, Pelles C is no language, it is an IDE.
The language is ANSI C, so there is no need to change the language. Wink

Duly noted.  Thank you.

Just to come back to the topic of this thread: I talked with Pelle, and he will come back to the forum.

Good news: he is working on Pelles C 6.50.

If you select Members from the menu bar, sort the list by Date Registered and select Pelle, you will find that he last visited this forum on August 20th, 2010.

This means that he is still alive, but he just has no comment to add to the current discussions.

I think he just visits to check the bug reports to know, what needs fixing.

Looking forward to version 6.5 Grin Cool

Let this peanut ring in from the peanut gallery: "Great News Christian".

At least we have re-enforced the fact that Pelle has a slew of fans (heard from and not heard from) !
