Title: V13 final release
Post by: John Z on May 22, 2025, 05:30:45 PM
Yikes!

The version 13 final release shows the Error code: -1073741819 issue!  :(

Stay with RC3 if you are on WIN11 24H2 !!

I thought it was safe because my desktop on RC3 and WIN 11 24H2 ran without issue.

So I upgraded the laptop for Pelle C to WIN11 24H2.  Ran V13 final release (which ran fine under win 11 23H2) and immediately get the Error code: -1073741819.  Checked Desktop again, ran fine on RC3 Win 11 24H2.

Uninstalled V13 final version completely from the laptop, manually deleted anything left over then
reinstalled RC3 now it runs fine on WIN 11 24H2.

Please move to the prior discussion on this topic.

How can it be a bug when it's not even supported?! The download page says nothing about Windows 11 for version 13.

Hi John:

I'm compiling from command-line and from Pelles 13.00.7 IDE on Windows 24H2 OS Build 26100.4061. No problems.
Do you get Error code: -1073741819 when compiling the Hello example in the IDE ? What and how are you compiling to throw that error ?

You are right.  I should not have put into BUG group/list there is probably a better place to move it to.
I was careful to not call it a bug even though I put it here.

I'll try to move it.

Hi John:

I compiled both 32 and 64 bit Timo's revision of alderman2's program using the .ppj files from the archive at

https://forum.pellesc.de/index.php?topic=11433.msg41328#msg41328 (https://forum.pellesc.de/index.php?topic=11433.msg41328#msg41328)

and did not get Error code: -1073741819.

Again, I ask, what and how are you compiling to throw that error ? You say "ran fine". What "ran fine"?

Hi John,

Did you try the compatibility mode setting?

I have Pelles C v13.00.6 #3 and Windows 11 24H2. It works without an error code.
I guess you should rename the folder to the previous version of Pelles before installing the latest one. That's what I did and it works without an error message.

OK - looks like my system was having a problem and I jumped the gun seeing the same error code as before with WIN11 24H2 after V13 final version was installed.

I wiped out everything again and reinstalled from scratch again - this time, like everyone else,  I get no error.

My apologies to all, especially Pelle,  I made a stupid dumb move posting so soon without doing further checking. :-[

Please forgive my error.

John Z

I won't remove the topic to hide my error but leave it to remind me to be better....
