Title: Pelles C in 64 bit land ?
Post by: OldCcoder on August 22, 2006, 06:16:54 PM
I just wanted to ask the question, is there any thought or actual work going on towards adding functionality for 64 bit ?  Currently a good fraction of the programming that I do has to either run on 64 bit or manipulate registry keys in 64 bit.  So just wanted to know if there is any thought going into adding 64 bit capability for Pelles C IDE ?

Thanks for the help.

I have done some preliminary work, but much remains. I doubt I can manage both 32-bit and 64-bit development at the same time, so when I move to 64-bit land, the 32-bit support will be dropped - but I think it's too early for this to happen yet... (future will tell, but I suspect it might take a while for the world to move to 64-bit Windows...)

Well, I work for a company that requires me to be on the bleeding edge of new software from Microsoft so as I learn I would be more than happy to impart my experience and knowledge of 64 bit things.  And remember even in windows Vista, all of the basic code is still written in C.

I know this has been said before, but,
"Real men program in C."   :)
