I find the better way for a Newbee to learn something, is to begin with a Project.
My idea is to realize an App for my HTC TD, that brings predefined stock values on the Todayscreen, like a Stock Ticker, but, how do i begin?

Wow! Sounds like a good but (to me) ambitious project. I assume you already know how to program in C. Im just beginning to re-learn my C with the use of a good set of texts and this excellent compiling environment. Reckon it will take me about 3 months to re-learn the fundamentals in Windows and be ready to look at writing a little code for my PPC.
Good Luck!

Thank You Paul,
You'r right, my development proposal is to big for a newbee, i should set one's sights lower.
Cheers
Sorry to seem to pour cold water on the proposal - I really hope you arent disheartened.
I too have an ambitious project for my legacy PPC that will involve the use of external memory (Flash Card), the infrared port, yet to be arranged input from a keypad and a barcode reader and both screen and audio output. It is part of a larger project that will ultimately require custom customised hardware. As I am going through my learning resources I am also designing and beginning the pseudo code for the basic outline of what I want to achieve. As an aid to this I am using a Flow Charting program (in my case a very old and basic but good product called ABC Flowcharter). I find doing this in parallel with learning C from the ground up gives me the incentive to get through the perhaps tedious process of learning basic input, output, number formats and conversions etc.
I dont know if it will be of any assistance but I managed to pick up some good texts at 2nd hand book markets. They may not be the latest incarnations of C but as long as they are based on ANSI C most of the fundamental building blocks have not altered.
Once again I wish you well.

Paul
