Before I give it a try myself, has anybody tested Pelle's C on ReactOS ? Any opinion on this zany idea of mine ?

Hi Fool-DupleX,

Long time ago, I tried Pelles C on Linux Wine and it worked. No idea if Pelles C works on ReactOS.

I've tinkered with ReactOS for brief periods of time over its long history.  I've never installed Pelles C
on ReactOS but I have run small apps on ReactOS that were compiled with Pelles C and they seemed
to run just fine.  I would be surprised if Pelles C could not be installed and used on ReactOS.

There is nothing zany about wanting to use Pelles C on ReactOS.  ReactOS strives for and largely
succeeds at binary compatibility with Windows, especially XP,  in my experience.  If you've
not yet installed ReactOS on bare metal, you could first install it on VirtualBox and then (attempt to)
install Pelles C on top of that image.  That should tell you whether you should go any further in your
explorations.

I don't know if there is a 64-bit version of ReactOS.  If not, you will need to install an older 32-bit version
of Pelles C.

It is fun to tinker ... so just do it.

No, only 32 bit.
I have reactos, can test pelles 8 . But reactos is very unstable, even win2k better.

Thanks for your inputs ! Sure, I've been following ReactOS for quite a while and it's still largely unfinished and buggy. It also lacks a real development environment and I think Pelles C could be the one. I will evaluate the compatiblity when I have a bit of time.
