well it can, as timovjl already stated and I can use it just fine as well, as the attached screenshot proofs...

As Stefan already mentioned, it's the IDE of Pelle's C, the part of Pelle's where you are likely to try and use this font.
If not, well, then you need to provide a better explanation as to what exactly you are talking about...

I think the original poster was asking what steps one takes to install and use the consolas font, or more generally any font,  with Pelles C.

Well, that is the problem with the OP, (s)he doesn't make it clear what exactly (s)he is talking about, hence my request in my reply to clarify...

Sorry, but this is still not really clear, as there is a major difference if you are talking about console applications (that's where I see the most use of that font) or in a true Windows (windowed) application.

In case of the former, there is nothing to do (that can be done) within Pelle's C or your program it's a setting of the DOS box which font to use for all console applications...
For a windows program, it should be a property of whatever component you're using...

PoIDE: Tools->Options>Source tab->Fonts
If Consolas is not in the list, check if is installed on your PC.

As he clarified by now, that is not his issue. He is trying to use the font in his application, and that depends on the type of application he is trying to create.

That the font should of course be installed on his PC to be used (either way) is a no-brainer. And as a quick check just showed, it seems to be installed and readily available on any Windows PC running Windows XP/Windows Server 2003 or newer... (actually don't have a Windows 8 machine to verify right now)

As I mentioned, I checked on various OS readily available and the font is also present on a Windows 2003 Server install (which is driver and otherwise compatible/parallel to Windows XP)...

What Windows version you are using ?
Going by the screenshot he posted, I make a WAG and say (s)he is running a Chinese version of Windows XP. That might be the reason that this font is not in his list of fonts. I am pretty sure that the font is available in all "Western" language version of Windows...

But as mentioned above, I suspect that his/her localized version of Windows doesn't include this font by default. But then it should not be a big deal to install it. Pelle's C IDE (POIDE) doesn't do anything special with fonts, you can select whatever the underlying OS provides...
