error while writing in "sysdefs.tag" building database

Hello,

I have the problem after I installed win8 on my PC(on win 7 I never had any trouble with pelles c). when I try to build the systemdefinition database Im getting the error: error while writing in sysdefs.tag . (Its all in German on my PC so I try to translate   ) . I have no clue whats the problem.
nothing has changed of the hardware and I also installed the win8SDK.
(the only thing that has changed is the bios version but that was neccessary to install win8)
I know win 8 is relative new at the moment but is this a known error using win8?
Or is it simply neccessary to change some settings in the control panel?
whould be happy for any usefull answer^^

win8Pro(64bit)
Motherboard(A75M)BiosVer. 2.0
4Gig DDR3 Kingston RAM

First of all, you should update your compiler, you are now years behind the curve here...

Beside that, yes, the same/similar issue has been mentioned on the forum before that Windows 8 doesn't allow proper access to certain files in the compiler. AFAIK, there is no known solution at this point...

I got it!!

I downloaded the version 7.0 but these installation didnt even start.
Then I tried open it with administrator rights in cmd window but still didnt work BUT
the trick was to set the destination folder to user folder cause in any case the admin has full rights THERE.
so C:\Users\"put name here" is the right folder for installing XD.

after installing also the prob with sysdefs.tag wasnt a prob anymore

What was the destination folder that was being used by default?

The problem (and one of the stupidities introduced in Windows is that M$ is trying to force you to install though their @#^!@!*&)$ apps store and you will run in this kind of issues all the time now with almost any development environment and self-created applications...

I don't have Windows 8 running myself yet, even though  I have a copy Windows 8 Professional courtesy of Microsoft, just no hardware that I could waste to try it out. Too many things that won't work as used to, I rather get work done that following the latest buzz...
