Quote from: "Pelle"What type of running program?
A "tool"? Configured how?
What type of help file? *.hlp? *.chm?
Which version of the Platform SDK?
Which version of Windows?

Still no idea where to look...

I use win2000, sp4.  The PSDK is in Document Explorer ver. 7.0.  Most of the help files I'm working with through POIDE are CHM files, with html help version 5.2.3644.0

I would think the problem is occuring someplace between where it closes auxilliary and help windows and final program exit.

I've had as many as 3 half-closed copies of POIDE, each sucking up about 3 megs of memory,  in the Processes list at once.  The good news is they aren't using any CPU time... it's like they're waiting for something that just isn't happening.

I will try to set up a test environment. I can't reproduce it on my XP machine.

One possibility is that XP uses app management and will close down a stalled program on it's own.  Win2000 has a similar feature, but it's not enabled by default.  I keep it disabled for debugging reasons.

I get the problem on my friend's win98 machine too.
