Delay to compile and execute programs from IDE.
« on: November 25, 2012, 03:02:29 PM »
Hi guys,

Here I have a very big delay to compile and a pause (a temporary lock-up) to execute programs from the IDE, like source code and Win95 help files. What could be causing this, anybody have a clue?

I use MS Security Essentials as anti-virus, I even tried to hide poide.exe and winhlp32.exe from the scanner, but it doesnt work... I think I am not doing it right, anybody can help me? :)

It does sound like your anti-virus software is holding up the process while it scans whatever you're launching.

The easy test is to temporarily disable MS-SE and see what happens.

Aside from the compile time... I experience no delays when launching projects and never when launching help files... But then I don't use anti-virus programs...  I like having the full performance of my system.
