Pelles C Imposes Zero Tolerance On Spammers

Well, I can dream can't I?

Seriously ...

Pelle, I strongly suggest that only REGISTERED USERS be allowed to
post messages.  That way, you know who to BAN when they post crap.

Thanks for considering!

I would concur - logging in and seeing new posts in the various forums is great, finding that they're all 'Shakira' movies or other junk is a huge annoyance at best.  Realizing that you'll never keep them all out, perhaps only allowing registered users to post would be a good start.

While we're on the subject, can someone go in and remove the obvious spam messages?  I'd hate for a kid to come to the forum for assistance and be subjected to the nonsense messages.

Tom

I visit this forum often and I have noticed that Pelle has not posted a reply for several weeks.  In the past these junk posts would be removed almost as soon as they were posted by Pelle himself I suppose.

I hope Pelle is well and has simply taken a vacation or something.  It does seem like a tremendous amount of work to administer this growing community, maintan the development environment, and answer forum questions in ones spare time.

I see that Frankie and others have stepped up to the plate and fielded a lot of questions and even resolved some technical issues.

Perhaps when he gets back Pelle might consider dividing up the burden of administering this site by choosing a team of vollunteers that would take charge of the board on a rotating basis.

Where's Pelle?

I have been wondering about Pelle for some time now. His last post was on September 17.

It would be good to share the moderator's tasks and help cut down on the spam which has gotten out of hand.

I don't know what Pelle is doing, I sent a personal mail to him a week ago to ask if he is doing well. Up to now I get no answer. I hope he is just busy with work.
All the best.

Hello,

I sometimes have junks onto my forum, it's because of phpBB configuration system, even if you authorize ONLY registered users to post, those fucking BOTS have a system to bypass the phpBB protection system :(

The only way is naming a second Admin to this forum that will often come to kill those bots.

Yes, definitively it would be great for the community && for Pelle if moderators were designated, cleaner forums for us, and Pelle doesn't have to worry about a thing!

We just need for Pelle to trust in one of us :D .

This happens even with updated versions of PHPBB? What a bummer  :? .

Pelle wrote me to say he is alive and well and says

"AMD64 and 64-bit Windows is much more interesting at the moment."

I am eagerly awaiting a version of Pelles C to compile a DLL for x64, I don't like to use something else than Pelles C.

The forum is still alive while we use it
I agree that it would be much better without al that spam, and Pelle made enough cleaning last days.
He wrote me speaking about a lot of fun working with AMD 64
Maybe a 64 bit version in progress???

Pelle made me a moderator of this forum.

I volunteered to help by deleting spam postings several times a week.

I hope this will help.
