If you want a sophisticated text editor try this one

https://www.emeditor.com/text-editor-features/history/emeditor-free/

These are the instructions to have it free.

Code: [Select]
Download the normal EmEditor Professional/Free installer,
install, and select All Commands on the Tools menu, select
Help, and select Downgrade. (Alternatively, select Quick
Launch (CTRL+Q) on the Tools menu, type “downgrade”,
and press Enter twice.)

Not sure if it is worth messing with this downgrade stuff.
I am using for quite a while now PSPad, does everything I could need with text files, sources or otherwise...

Yes that looks good too. I've been using TextPad4 for many years.

find and replace function, Unicode support, and printing capabilities.

And it's free, wow! Perhaps I should sell my editor cheaper 8)

PsPad looks more interesting. At least it has a "find list", not as comfortable as RichMasm's listbox, but usable. The bookmarks are a joke, though.
