PPC (WM5) app won't run from Pelles with Wine/Linux
« on: April 18, 2008, 07:19:17 PM »
Hi,

After a desperate search for a way of creating apps for WM5, I found Pelles. It seems to do exactly what I am looking for, and I am really glad that it runs under Wine/Linux.

My question is about the executable produced. I have created some simple 'Hello World' type apps, but when I transfer them to my WM5 device (iPAQ1950) I get an error, which says that my app is either not signed or some of its components are missing. I assume there is something simple in the settings which I have missed (I am still new to this). Could someone give me some help on setting up the IDE to produce an EXE that will run on my device, or point me to a step-by-step tutorial?

Many thanks, and congrats on what appears to be great IDE

Hi,

Well, I have installed the IDE on my XP machine and it worked without any fiddling, straight from the install!

I guess this means that I need to check how my Wine is set up on my Linux PC. That will have to be for another topic.
