IDE up arrow key handling
« on: August 14, 2008, 09:41:10 PM »
perhaps its just me, but i don't like the way the up arrow key is working

example:

1) goto the end of a line
2) press right arrow  (you will get at the beginning of the next line)
3) press up arrow  (you end up and the end of the previous line)

That last one I don't like, i expected that it would go to the beginning of the previous line.
If I wanted to go to the end of the previous line, i would have pressed left arrow.

I couldn't find a configuration to alter this

Is it suppose to work like this ?  or can it be changed or made configurable

thx

There is some extra logic so that moving up/down from a position towards the end of a long line, past a short line, and then onto a longer line will not loose this general column position. I suspect there is a conflict with this, somewhere. I will look at it.

This can't be configured, since I personally hate other programs with 8000 settings I rather not learn or understand. The defaults should (almost) always be good enough.
